Mussels in Tomato Sauce with Garlic

2 T olive oil

5-6 garlic cloves

1 can crushed or chopped tomatoes

½ C white wine

Red pepper flakes

Salt and pepper

1 lb of mussels

 

Clean and rinse the mussels. Make sure there are no “beards” on them. (This is the fuzzy string that hangs on to them).

Add all the ingredients in a pot except the mussels and simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the cleaned mussels and simmer for an additional 4-5 minutes.

Ladled mussels and sauce into a large bowl. Serve with crust French bread.

Enjoy it all while it is hot and fresh!
