Classic Hamburgers and Roasted Red Potatoes

Not that I think people need recipes to make hamburgers at home , but I do think having a general temperature guide can be helpful (when I have questions I tend to refer back to Alton Brown), here is how I make a delicious burger.

Remove Medium Roll from freezer (if frozen)

Take the ground meat you have bought and form into (2) 5-6oz burgers

Season burgers with salt, pepper, and a small amount of onion powder

Heat grilling unit (grill press / George Forman Grill, cast iron grill pan, or grill) to a medium-high heat for 2 to 3 minutes.  Place the hamburger patties on grill.

For medium-rare burgers, cook the patties for 4 minutes on each side.

For medium burgers, cook the patties for 5 minutes on each side.

Flip the burgers only once during cooking.

The shopping list contained Rolls, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, top your burger as you see fit

Baked Red Potatoes

Pre-heat oven to 400°

Wash 1 small bag of potatoes (enough for 2 servings) and cut into halves or quarters depending on the size, you want bit size pieces.

Place potatoes in a large bowl

Add 3T olive oil, 1 handful chopped parsley, 1t cayenne, 1T salt and pepper to taste

Mix together with your hands to make sure all potatoes are coated.

Place on a sheet tray lined with aluminum foil (this will help greatly during clean-up)

Place in oven and bake until potatoes are brown and fork tender.
