Arrabbiata Sauce

This is my semi-homemade Arrabbiata sauce for pasta

1 pint cherry tomatoes

2 cloves garlic

1 Tablespoon Oil

Chili flakes

¼ – ½ a jar of pre-bought tomato sauce

Fresh basil

Salt and pepper to taste

Pre heat oven to broil

Coat tomatoes and smashed garlic with a ½ T of oil and place on a lined sheet pan, season with salt and pepper to taste

Broil tomatoes and garlic until they have a nice brown / black char

Remove from oven

In a small sauce pan over medium heat use remaining oil and place tomatoes and garlic in the pan

Add chili flake, 2 medium pinches (or to taste), to pan and allow spices to open with the heat from pan

In the end add  ¼- ½ a jar of basic pre-bought tomato sauce and turn heat to low and allow to simmer for 15 minutes.

Serve with pasta of your choice.

Add a pinch of fresh basil and parmesan when serving.
