Grocery List – Week 1

The shopping list for this week is pretty straight forward and designed to help warm you up over these last few weeks of winter.  There are some hearty options that I think you will enjoy including the makings for chili, a grilled steak, and a slightly lighter asparagus frittata.  Delicious.  I did not add any additions to the this weeks list for specific breakfast foods, but feel free to go back to my stand-bys of yogurt and cereal if you need to refresh any of those essentials, and do not forget there is a dozen eggs on the list.

Grocery List – Week 1
Produce
3 bananas
3 oranges
1 pint berries
1 lb baby salad greens
1 pint cherry tomatoes (I buy cherry tomatoes because they tend to be the most flavorful in the winter months)
1 small bunch asparagus
1 bunch green onions
packaged (small package) or bulk (10-12 individual) crimini mushrooms
2 red peppers
1 bunch celery
1 bunch cilantro
2 medium yellow onions – essential
1 baking potato
Meat
1 6-8oz salmon filet
¾ lb ground beef or ground turkey
1 6-8oz sirloin steak (flank steak, rib-eye, skirt are all fine too)
sandwich meat
Dairy
1 dozen eggs
1 small container sour cream
1 package shredded cheese (or you can buy a block and shred your own)
milk (if needed) – essential
Dry
1 package individual rolls (8-12) freeze and use as needed
Misc
1 can kidney beans or black beans
1 can chopped tomato – essential
salad dressing – essential
