Lemon Juice
Tonight I have a quick post that came to mind when I was trying to utilize a large amount of lemons and limes before they went bad. I had such a large quantity on hand, because these lemons and limes were the stars of the first official “The Single Plate” photo shoot.
Since I bought two dozen lemons and limes and don’t go through near that many in an average week, I have halvedand juiced all of them, strained out the seeds, then poured the juice into ice cube trays, and lastly put the tray in the freezer. This way I have a single serving of lemon juice when I need it and the fruit has not gone to waste. This idea can be carried over to a variety of items, I have frozen stock in ice cube trays, I have also done it with other juicing fruits when I find them on sale.
It is simple things like this that make cooking for ourself at home a lot easier.
